Quiet often a diagram will tell us at a glance what would otherwise take many words and probably be confusing. The flow chart is a simple diagram which tells us at a glance what happens, particularly in an industry.
For example: What happens to an apple can easily be shown on a flow chart. The arrows tell us which direction to go in.
